Cette semaine, le prince de Galles, en tant qu’amiral de la flotte a assisté à la cérémonie de mise en service du HMS Prince of Wales, nouveau navire qui rejoint la flotte de la Royal Navy. Le HMS Prince of Wales est le petit frère du HMS Queen Elizabeth.

Camilla est la marraine du HMS Prince of Wales
La duchesse de Cornouailles a participé à cette cérémonie officielle, à laquelle a également participé la chorale des enfants de la cathédrale de Bristol. La duchesse Camilla est la marraine du navire, dont la construction s’est achevée en 2016. Le prince Charles et Camilla ont visité le navire et ont rencontré les 700 marins et militaires qui travailleront à bord du HMS Prince of Wales. Ils ont également rencontré des vétérans et des survivants du dernier navire Prince of Wales qui a tragiquement été victime d’un naufrage pendant la la Seconde Guerre mondiale.
